Almost 100 women enjoyed lunch and a laugh with a panel of vibrant and talented women at yesterday’s International Women’s Day celebration at the Byron @ Byron, with proceeds going to the New South Wales Cancer Council.
Women’s equality has made positive gains but the world is still unequal. International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrates the social, political and economic achievements of women past, present and future, while focusing world attention on areas requiring further action.
Inspiring Change is the 2014 theme for IWD and encourages advocacy for women’s advancement everywhere in every way. It calls for challenging the status quo for women’s equality and vigilance inspiring positive change.
Byron United celebrated IWD with a star-studded panel of award-winning female speakers at this year’s fundraising lunch.
The panel was made up of Samantha Gowing, Australia’s leading spa chef and founder of Food Heath Wealth, food author and media personality Belinda Jeffery, popular romance writer Jennifer St George, motivational speaker Trish Springsteen and moderator Candida Baker, journalist and former editor of The Weekend Australian Magazine.
