Sammy’s Supergreen Smoothie

My beautiful friend gave me a bounty of his handpicked organic garden leaves and flowers yesterday.

They are so gorgeous that I didn’t want to eat them but I knew how good just a handful would be blended up into a breakfast smoothie for my fabulous breakfast chef Jasmine and I.

Here’s what we did…

2 green apples, chopped with skin and seeds
1 cup baby spinach leaves
1 cup cavalo nero or other kale leaves, stripped
2 stalks celery, roughly chopped
1/4 cup mint leaves
1 small knob ginger
1 whole lemon, peeled and chopped – yep pips, peel, pith n all!
1/2 cup blueberries
2 tablespoons protein powder
1 tablespoon mesquite
2 teaspoons E3 Live
500 ml filtered water

  • Combine all the ingredients into a high speed blender or Thermomix.
  • Process at full speed until as smooth as can be
  • Dilute with a little water if it’s too thick for you
